Why Whelk?
Unknown to many, it all started as a passion project in 2018 by 3 University buddies. As the seasons came and went, we learned about the fashion industry’s nefarious impact on Earth. We took the risky decision to challenge the status quo and bet the existence of the project on a more sustainable cap. After more than 3 years of research and development, it paid off with the launch of our Blutech headwear collection, the first of its kind. With that in mind, Whelk truly represents the bigger picture of what is to come, all while staying true to our ocean-cleaning efforts.
What’s next?
Our innovative Blutech technology is a game-changer, especially in an industry that has lost its integrity with human rights scandals and sustainability issues. Blutech has brought us a solid foundation on which we intend to continue to build on. Our new identity will allow us to continue offering durable products, all of which will contribute to our mission to save our oceans. #TheWhelkPromise
